Mega Roulette: Single-Zero Roulette with Random Mega Multipliers

Mega Roulette is a live single-zero roulette game from Pragmatic Play, streamed from a purpose-built studio with a host and a real wheel. Before every spin, between one and five numbers receive a random multiplier worth 50x to 500x on straight-up bets. Players like it because the table feels like ordinary European roulette, with an occasional chance of a much larger single-number win.

Pragmatic Play released Mega Roulette worldwide in February 2021, after a few weeks in which only a handful of Latin American operators offered it. The wheel has 37 pockets: the numbers 1 to 36 in red and black, plus a single green zero. Every standard inside and outside bet is on the layout, and a racetrack lets you place neighbour bets and the French call bets Voisins, Tiers, Orphelins and Zero Game. If you are new to the layout, our roulette guide covers the basic bets.

The change from a regular table is in the straight-up bet. A plain straight-up win pays 29:1 rather than the 35:1 you get at a European table. That lower payout pays for the Mega multipliers, which can turn a single-number win into a payout of up to 500x. In October 2025, Pragmatic Play also released a separate follow-up called Mega Roulette 3000, with its own rules. This page covers the original game.

How to play Mega Roulette

A round takes under a minute and always runs in the same order:

  1. Pick a chip value and place your bets on the layout or the racetrack. Pragmatic Play gives you 20 seconds to bet.
  2. If you want to cover a whole group of numbers in one click, use the Mega Bets buttons. Mega Chances, Mega Dozens and Mega Columns put one chip on every number in the chosen group, so each number counts as its own straight-up bet.
  3. When betting closes, between one and five numbers are picked at random and each gets a Mega multiplier between 50x and 500x. They are highlighted on the layout.
  4. The ball is spun and the wheel decides the winning number.
  5. A straight-up bet on a winning number that carries a multiplier is paid at that multiplier. A straight-up win on any other number pays 29:1, and all other bets pay at standard roulette odds.

The Mega multipliers only apply to straight-up bets. If you place a split on 7 and 8 and number 7 is a Mega number, the split still pays 17:1 when the ball lands on 7. The game picks one to five numbers each round, and the values come from a fixed range of 50x to 500x. The choice is random and has no link to earlier spins, so a number that carried a multiplier a minute ago is no more or less likely to carry one now.

Because the plain straight-up payout drops from 35:1 to 29:1, most single-number wins pay less than they would at a standard European table. The multipliers make up most of that gap, but only over a very large number of spins. Published figures put standard bets at 97.30% RTP, the same as European roulette. Several reviews list a lower figure of about 96.50% for straight-up bets, and Pragmatic Play does not show the number on its public game page. The help screen at your table shows the figure that applies there.

Tips for playing Mega Roulette

No betting system beats the house edge in roulette. Each spin is independent, and the multipliers are drawn at random after bets close. What you can control is how you play:

  • Set a budget before you join the table and stop when it is used up. Treat that amount as the price of the entertainment, not as money you expect to win back.
  • Know what each bet can do. Multipliers only pay on straight-up bets, which win about once every 37 spins on average. Outside bets win more often but never get a multiplier.
  • Watch the cost of Mega Bets. One click can place 12 or 18 chips, so the total stake per round can grow quickly.
  • Ignore streaks in the results panel. Past numbers and past multipliers do not predict the next spin.
  • Take regular breaks and keep an eye on the time. If gambling stops feeling like a hobby, our responsible gambling page lists ways to get help.

Online casino play in Canada is for adults only: 19+ in most provinces and 18+ in Alberta, Manitoba and Quebec.

Mega Roulette vs Lightning Roulette

The closest relative of Mega Roulette is Lightning Roulette, which Evolution launched three years earlier. The core idea is the same: a lower plain payout on straight-up bets in exchange for random multipliers on a handful of numbers.

In practice, the choice often comes down to the studio, the host and the bet limits at your casino. If you want a wider multiplier range, XXXtreme Lightning Roulette goes up to 2,000x, with a lower plain straight-up payout. Pragmatic Play’s first game-show style live title was Mega Wheel, a money wheel rather than a roulette table.

Mega Roulette FAQ

What is the RTP of Mega Roulette?

Standard bets return 97.30%, the same as European roulette. Several sources list straight-up bets lower, at about 96.50%, because the plain payout is cut to 29:1 to fund the multipliers.

How many Mega numbers are there in each round?

Between one and five numbers receive a multiplier each round. Each multiplier is worth between 50x and 500x.

Do the multipliers apply to splits or outside bets?

No. Only a straight-up bet on a Mega number gets the multiplier. Every other bet pays at the usual roulette odds.

What is the biggest possible win in Mega Roulette?

The top multiplier is 500x a straight-up bet. Pragmatic Play advertises wins of up to €500,000, but each casino sets its own bet limits and may cap the payout per round.

Is Mega Roulette the same game as Mega Roulette 3000?

No. Mega Roulette 3000 is a separate version released in October 2025, with up to eight multiplied numbers and payouts of up to 3,000x on straight-up bets. Its rules and RTP differ, so check the help screen of the table you open.
