Privacy Policy
This policy explains what information www.valleygames.ca (“ValleyGames”, “we”, “us”) collects, why, and what choices you have.
ValleyGames is an independent information site about online gambling in Canada. We do not offer games, take bets, open player accounts or hold player funds. The site is meant for adults of legal gambling age in their province: 19 or older, or 18 or older in Alberta, Manitoba and Quebec.
Who we are and how to reach us
This website is operated by ValleyGames. For any question about this policy or your personal information, please write to us through the form on our Contact us page.
Information we collect
When you browse the site. As with any website, each visit produces technical data: your IP address, browser and device type, the page you asked for, the page you came from, and the date and time. Our web server and Cloudflare, the service that delivers and protects the site, process this data so that pages can be shown, the site stays secure and errors can be investigated.
When you use the contact form. The form asks for your name and email address (both required), an optional subject and your message. We use these details only to read your message and reply to it. Messages are delivered to us by email. Please do not send sensitive details such as banking information, ID documents or casino account passwords.
What we do not collect. The site has no user accounts, comments, newsletter or payment features. We do not use Google Analytics or any other third-party analytics, advertising or social media tracking tools.
The site sets one cookie of its own:
- PHPSESSID, a session cookie created by our server. It holds a random identifier, is not used for advertising or to follow you to other sites, and is deleted when you close your browser.
A standard WordPress script may also save a small note in your browser’s session storage about emoji support. It stays in your browser and is not sent to us.
Third parties may set their own cookies:
- One article includes an embedded YouTube video. When that player loads, YouTube (Google) may set cookies under its own policies.
- Casino and affiliate websites you reach through our links may set their own cookies once you arrive there.
You can block or delete cookies at any time in your browser settings.
Affiliate links and how we earn money
ValleyGames is funded through affiliate commissions. Some links, such as “Play Now” buttons, lead to online casino operators. They first pass through an address on our site starting with /go-gm/, which forwards you to the operator, usually through an affiliate tracking service.
When you click such a link, our system creates a reference code for that click, generated from its time, and adds it to the destination address together with codes for our partner account and the offer. The code does not contain your name, email address or other contact details. Our server may also record which link was clicked and when.
If you register or play with an operator after following one of our links, the operator may pay us a commission. Operators report results to us against these reference codes. We do not need, and do not ask for, your casino account details, payment information or identity documents.
Once you leave our site, the operator’s own privacy policy and terms apply. Please read them before you register.
Services that help run the site
- Cloudflare delivers the site and protects it against attacks and abuse, processing your IP address and request data for this purpose. If the site fails to load, your browser may send Cloudflare a short technical error report.
- Google Fonts. The site’s fonts load from Google’s servers, so Google receives your IP address and basic browser information when a page loads.
- WordPress.org. If your browser cannot display certain emoji, the page may load emoji images from WordPress.org servers.
- Hosting and email providers store the site and deliver contact form messages to us.
We use the information above to run and secure the site, answer your messages, attribute affiliate clicks and calculate commissions, and meet our legal obligations. We do not sell personal information, build advertising profiles or make automated decisions about you.
We share information only with the service providers listed above, with operators and affiliate networks as described in the affiliate section (a reference code, not your identity), and with authorities when the law requires it.
Where information is processed
Our service providers may process information outside your province or outside Canada, where it is subject to local law, including lawful access by authorities there.
How long we keep information
We keep contact form messages only as long as we need them to deal with your enquiry and any follow-up. Technical logs are kept for a limited time for security and troubleshooting, then deleted or overwritten.
Security
The whole site is served over encrypted HTTPS, and we take reasonable steps to protect the information we hold. No system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your rights
Canadian privacy law, including the federal Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and provincial laws where they apply, may give you the right to:
- ask what personal information we hold about you;
- ask us to correct it;
- withdraw your consent or ask us to delete it, subject to legal limits.
Send requests through our Contact us page. We may need to confirm your identity first, and we aim to reply within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or the privacy commissioner in your province.
Age
We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the legal gambling age. If you believe a minor has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the site or the law changes. The date below shows the current version.
